EventCentric 2025 - About EventCentric

About

Is this conference for me?

EventCentric is a new conference about Event-Driven Architectures, Distributed Systems, EventSourcing, Streaming, and Messaging.

This is the conference for you: the people who architect, build, and run these systems. The people who work on these systems day in, day out, and make it work.

Building a performant event-driven system is no longer just an aspiration. Events have become central to how enterprise teams build their critical software systems. As the patterns and technologies mature and proliferate, there’s a need for clarity on the current best practices, told by those who are working on large-scale enterprise systems. We don’t favour one tool, technology or practice over another. Instead we will gather to learn from the practitioners at the coalface to unpick what’s working for teams building in complex environments.

Who is curating the line-up?

We’re working with Ralph Debussman, lead enterprise Kafka Engineer at Migros, Switzerland’s largest retailer. He’s also a co-author of “Streaming Databases” and a former CTO. Alongside Ralph, we’re also working with Oskar Dudycz, author of the popular newsletter, Architecture Weekly, and an event-driven architecture specialist.

Who are the organisers?

EventCentric is organised by Aardling, a software agency focused on strategy, design and architecture. Aardling is the organiser and host of Domain-Driven Design Europe, the much-loved software design and architecture conference.

Aardling’s conferences are curated by the community and executed by a dedicated, professional events team. Their conferences are noted for talk quality and attendee experience, with incremental improvements made year-on-year by a full-time staff.

EventCentric will be co-located with DDD Europe and Data Mesh Live.

What’s Aardling history with the Event-Driven community?

Aardling was the organiser behind EventSourcing Live, a conference for the EventSourcing community. We’ve been organising EventSourcing and Messaging training courses for a number of years, helping enterprise teams get to grips with the fundamentals of building with events at the heart of how they system operates.
